france ranks 1st us last in health care

France Ranks 1st, US Last in Health Care

As a follow up on my last post about the disconnect between the

Republican candidates for US President and the realities of health

care in the United States, this report from ABC News could not be more

timely. Perhaps this video from ABC news will give you the details in

a more convenient manner.

From the report:

The 19 countries, in order of best to worst, were: France, Japan,

Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece,

Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain,

Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Perhaps this also explains why the Republicans have been reluctant to

speak out when their party members routinely bash France as a nation

that they like to ridicule. Maybe they are feeling a bit insecure when

they find out that France is not only providing socialized, universal

health care to all of its citizens, but that their standard of care is

superior to that of the US. No wait! Every industrialized nation on

this list has better health care than we do, so the hatred of the

French must be something more basic...perhaps the need to have an

enemy at all times that can be used to manipulate the American

electorate.

Once again, the Republican Party is showing its lack of connection

with the realities of the American public. Have a look at the

transcript from the New Hampshire Republican debate on health care if

you want to see for yourself.
